Recently, Amazon declared that it would be increasing Amazon Prime membership prices. Anyone who has ever been a member or is thinking about becoming one has probably wondered whether or not the yearly fee was worth it.
The most likely response is "yes." There is a lot more to Amazon Prime than just free two-day shipping. As a result, you might not be making the most of your membership or reaping its full benefits. The following are some of the hidden benefits of an Amazon Prime membership.
The speedy and free shipping is one of Amazon Prime's most prominent selling points. Suppose you frequently use Amazon, find yourself needing things at the last minute, and cannot make it to a store. In that case, you will appreciate the free one-day and same-day delivery options available in some locations.
The shipping cost for items under £20 is often charged to customers who are not Prime members. Standard shipping costs between £2.99 and £5.99, and standard delivery times of 3–5 days. As if that weren't enough, every year, on July 11, Amazon hosts Prime Day, a special event for Prime members only, during which they offer discounts of up to fifty percent off certain high-priced items for two days.
Prime members may make the most of their free two-day guaranteed delivery with various options by selecting the no-rush delivery option. When consumers choose free standard delivery instead of an expedited shipping option, they may be eligible for a promotional discount or reward that may be used on a future transaction. However, the incentive or discount will be forfeited if the no-rush shipping purchase is canceled or the delivery choice is changed.
Prime Wardrobe is a service available to Prime members that enables them to receive and return fashion goods for free if they don't find the right fit at home. Three or more articles of clothes, shoes, or accessories can be selected by Prime members and mailed to them at no additional cost. Customers are given seven days to try on all the items, after which they keep just the items they truly desire.
One's Prime membership can be donated to a good cause. Each time a Prime member purchases through the Amazon Smile gateway and selects a charity organization to receive 0.5% of the purchase price, Amazon will contribute 0.5% to that organization. To collect donations, nonprofit organizations can ask to be included on Amazon Smile.
Amazon Prime customers may take advantage of exclusive discounts, coupons, and age-appropriate product recommendations with the help of Amazon Family. In addition, a 15% baby registry completion discount is available. It includes a complimentary welcome box for the soon-to-be parents and their children, as well as discounts of up to 20% on recurring subscriptions of items like diapers and baby food.
Amazon's Household program allows Prime members to collaborate and share. Two adults, four teenagers, and four children may all be linked to a single Prime account, allowing the entire family to take advantage of Prime's many perks. Sharing Prime shipping perks, Prime Video streaming, Prime Reading, Prime Photos and album sharing, Prime Reload incentives of 2%, Amazon First Reads free books, and early access to Amazon Lightning Deals are all included.
Prime services, such as free two-day delivery on qualifying items and a six-month trial, are available to students at a discounted rate of fifty percent. All Prime advantages are extended to eligible students for four years or until they graduate from college. Amazon Prime for Students streamlines the process of acquiring dorm necessities, course materials, books, electronics, and more.
You can join Amazon Prime in a matter of minutes. However, before making any commitments, you should take advantage of the 30-day free trial to see whether or not it meets your needs. After the trial period ends, you may go into your account and cancel the subscription if you decide it's not for you.
If you don't cancel your Amazon Prime membership, Amazon will charge you £79 a year, or £7.99 per month, to continue enjoying all the perks. However, if you plan on using it once a year—perhaps for Christmas shopping or to take advantage of Prime Day deals—you may sign up for a free 30-day trial once every 12 months.
